The Scientific Method
There are numerous "Scientific Methods" that are used by scientists worldwide. Here is a copy of the official form that I use in 6th and 7th Science Classes. Use this form with your Science Fair project.

Student Project Assessment
Students ARE NOT competing against each other but instead will be assessed academically based on the scores from rubrics. Students will receive a certificate recognizing their personal level of expertise. Superior projects will receive a "Grand Champion" certificate. This designation will be based on their total score for the project.
Rubrics
I am using rubrics to determine the final score of each project. Use this link to visit Step #2 Assessment
Project Ideas
There are a lot of sites on the web that can help with the choosing of a project. Here are links to some of these.
A Little Humor
Unlike some projects our students have completed in the past the Science Fair is a STUDENT project completely, Feel free to use the experience as a teaching opportunity only. There is also a lot that they can learn from parents, grandparents and experts in the field of their choice.
