Student Assessment - Step #2
All grading will be based on the total scores from the different rubrics. Use the rubrics as you plan, carry out and complete the science fair project. I have copies of each rubric displayed here and you can also download a pdf of each.
The Science Fair project score is the equivalent of two chapter tests. Students can earn more than 200 points when the two rubrics are combined.

This form is not for scoring purposes but to let you know what is considered excellent in each area of the project. This is also a good resource to use while planning your project.
**OPTIONAL** in the section designated "During and after the Experiment" you will find some optional elements that have not been mentioned previously and some elements that are not needed by every type of experiment. Some of these elements such as references and variables are good to include in any project but for 6th and 7th Science are not required. As you try to determine the final score that your project will earn consider these if needed to keep your score at 200 or above.
**CONTROL** A control is not needed in every type of experiment. It is included here and on both rubrics for those projects that should have a control. If it is deemed unnecessary for a control those points are automatically added into the final score. Adding the points insures that a project is not penalized unfairly.
